1973 Super Beetle (posted 3-11-10)

1973 Super Beetle in blue with light grey vinyl interior that's in great vintage shape.  Runs great. Mechanicals are in great driving condition.  Less than 45,000 miles--only two owners.  Painted in 2001.  Newer brakes and lines.  Newer tires, gas tank, float, rubber runners and battery.  Eight track radio works.  I love this car, but with two young kids, it  is rarely driven.  Garaged.  Still has original bug floor liners and owner's manual.  Some surface rust mostly on the edges but pretty minor and a crack on the back body below the bumper.  Front bumper needs repair/replaced as it was bent last spring.  Seat belts are not attached properly.   Will accept best offer!   Let's talk.  Call to set up an appointment to see her.  Thanks.  Julie  614.783.9613

VW Parts for Sale
(posted 6-28-09)
I live in Columbus and have stumbled across some old bug parts.  I would like to get them into the hands of someone who can put them to use, for a modest price.  I have four decklids, one hood and a bumper.  The decklids all have different vent patterns, no two alike.  All have the license plate light and the Volkswagen logo in good shape.  Not sure if the bumper is front or rear (pardon my ignorance, I'm not a Bug guy, although I did have a Ghia for a short time!)  I would like $400 for the lot--just asking for enough to finish my vintage motorcycle restoration....  Or I will sell the pieces individually.  Please contact me at j.trevor76@yahoo.com

1973 VW Squareback

97K original.  Very nice interior.  Body is in great shape, some patches of rust, most notably at the passenger rear rain gutter.  Recently I put in a fuel pump and did some front brake work.  It runs well, handles well, sounds great.

I live in central Pennsylvania and it will need some work that I can't do to pass inspection involving rust underneath, specifically one of the rocker panels.   Its got the original wiring harness.  Needs a new horn button.  New hubcaps are en route from CA, as is a lock for the glove box.  Needs new tires.

This is a great looking original VW that runs.  Like I said, you'll want to do some welding on the underside at some point.  Price is $2750 OBO.  Contact Blake Ketchum 814.360.5039.

1973 Standard Beetle
Here's everything there is to know about the car.  I hate to even think about this... but in two weeks, I am moving to Tulsa and don't want to move 2 cars across the country.  The car is currently garaged in Powell (2 miles north of the zoo, on Riverside Drive).

$2200 - or make an offer.
I don't really WANT to sell... but logically, I should. So, low-ball offers are right out.

The Good:
1641cc engine
- rebuilt in 2005
- less than 500 miles
- counterweighted crank
- fully balanced and cc'd
- 110 cam
- 1qt Gene Berg oil sump
- leaks a little oil (suspect the oil cooler) exhaust
- ceramic coated header
- ceramic coated hideaway muffler (tucks completely under right rear fender)
- heater boxes replaced with j-tubes
-brakes completely redone in 2006
-everything is new (with the exception of the steel line running from front to back on the chassis)
-new Solex 34 pit 3 carb in 2005
-front end (suspension and steering) completely rebuilt in 2000
-new generator in 2006?
-engine propels the car nicely... great for spirited driving
-H4 headlights
-new window regulators 2005
-audio setup
- original Sapphire radio intact (and working)
- am/fm/tape/audio-in radio mounted in glove box
- equalizer/crossover mounted in glove box
- amp located in trunk
- full range speakers under the front seats
- 12" dual coil sub located in hidden enclosure behind back seat
-car had a GREAT time at an autocross event in 2006 :D

The Bad:
-running boards are going/gone due to rust
-floorboard on driver's side had new metal welded in 2005
-passenger's side could use the same
-the engine does not like to idle on its own- I'm sure with a small amount of work, it would purr like a kitten
-passenger's door:  original door was hit; still have the original door; door currently on the car is primer gray
