About & HistoryOur mission has always been to have fun! To boldly go where Vintage VW's are welcome (i.e. anywhere!) while spreading a spirit of camaraderie with fellow vintage automobile enthusiasts. Nearly everyone has a VW story to tell, and that thread binds all of us together.

Established in 1991
Literally hundreds of VW families fill our ranks. Our club is full of people from all walks of life, incomes, and age groups. From doctors and dentists to students, we all "got the bug" somewhere along the line. If you've been bitten, please join us! You do not have to own a VW to join--just a passion for these way cool cars. Even though the term "vintage" is in our name, we welcome newer VW's! Air-cooled or water-cooled, the VW family is one to be truly proud to be a part of, and our club is a perfect example of the camaraderie that comes along with owing a VW.

Check out our Calendar for meeting locations and upcoming events! The Volksfest car show draws over 3000 spectators and over 300 show cars each year - and it keeps growing! Our newsletter, Zündfolge, is published monthly, full of member articles and pictures. It's simply one of the nicest enthusiast newsletters out there and something we're very proud of. It's a monthly tribute to our strong club and its members.

History
The clubs lengthly history is being digitized! Our historian, Doug Barber, is taking on the task of scanning all of the clubs archives, all the way back to 1991. The link here will take you to the clubs flickr page where you can go, at VW speed, down memory lane and view photos, past issues of the Zündfolge, newspaper articles and many other items. Many thanks to Doug for taking the time and volunteering to make the archives available to all!
Other Events
Besides thirty years of Volksfest, there have been countless club activities for all to enjoy. From impromptu lunch and dinner gatherings, road tours, camp outs, chicken frys, the ever-popular Marion Tour, covered bridge tours, caravanning to local (and not-so-local) shows, the annual January banquet and the annual Christmas parties at Tom and Kathy Kern's and Mark and Debi Garrett's, it's been over thirty years of wonderful memories and friendships. Check out the calendar page for upcoming COVVC events as well as other VW events! |
