The 36th Annual Arthritis Show
By Mark Garrett
With a big thanks to the COVVCs own Mark Richmond, the 36th annual Arthritis Car Show, held at Metro Place in Dublin Ohio was a rousing success!
Starting Thursday, July the 5th, Debi and I hosted an open house for the “Ultimate Toy Room” tour. It was the perfect way to kick off two days of show car mania.
The next day, Debi and I headed up to Metro Place and got settled in for the weekend. We had a room at the Extended Stay, directly across from the show area, so it was a mini vacation for us. Gertrude did the Friday Cruise-In event, and was rewarded with a monster 6 foot trophy for all of her hard work.
After a great nights sleep, it was time for the Saturday Show Within A Show format. Debi had her 2005 Mercedes parked smartly in the Mercedes Benz area, and Gertrude was front and center in the VW area. Volkswagen was one of the featured Marque this year, and the final count was over 40 lovely VWs of almost every shape and color.
As the day wound down, everyone slowly made their way home after a fantastic weekend, with a final thanks to Mark and the many volunteers that made it such a great weekend.
Enjoy this small sampling of pics from the day. Hop over to the COVVC Facebook for lots more pics also.
